Surrounded by the Cambrian Mountains, Brecon Beacons, and a vast network of quiet lanes and remote trails, the area offers some of the most varied and rewarding riding in the UK.
From smooth, flowing tarmac roads to technical back lanes, river crossings, and forest tracks, riders can experience everything from relaxed touring to more challenging off-road sections. Whether you are riding a road bike, enduro / trail bike, or dual-sport machine, Llanerchindda gives you direct access to unforgettable routes in every direction.

Trail / Enduro Riding Tours

Llanerchindda is the ideal base for Trail / Enduro riders with at least 4 days of riding available in the area and many facilities available on site including secure storage, spray wash, drying room, map room with lanes marked on master maps, trail riding practice area and a small stock of spare parts available.
The area around Llanerchindda is perfect for trail riding with plenty of un-surfaced lanes, byways & un-classified roads only a short distance away.
The family at Llanerchindda have an excellent knowledge of the offroad routes in the area and are always on hand to talk guests through the routes available. Whether riders are experienced or relative beginners there are plenty of different options.

Trail / Enduro Bike Guiding:
The best and most exciting way to follow these trails is with our local guide Chris, who knows the area very well and can take you to places you wouldn’t find on your own (please ask for further details when making your booking).

GPS Hire:
Another option if you want to do your own navigating is to hire a GPS off us which has the OS Maps on it and can be marked up with routes for you (please ask for further details when making your booking).

Local Trail / Enduro Routes and Riding Areas
The area surrounding Llanerchindda is rich with outstanding riding routes. Some of the most popular and scenic regions include:

The Cambrian Circuit, a 102-mile route taking in Strata Florida, the Elan Valley, Rhayader, and Crychan Forest, offers a full day of varied terrain and dramatic landscapes.

The Llandovery and Brecon Beacons routes provide classic Welsh mountain riding, including Roman roads, open hill passes, and forest tracks.

Brechfa Forest is home to more challenging riding, including Dunlop Hill—one of the steepest and most demanding off-road sections in the area.

The Hundred House routes near Builth Wells offer quieter lanes and rolling countryside ideal for relaxed exploration and scenic touring.

One of the highlights nearby is Strata Florida, a legendary route passing through open countryside and forest with multiple river crossings, offering a true sense of remote adventure

Safety, Responsibility & Green Laneing
We strongly encourage all riders to respect the countryside and follow the country code when using local lanes and trails.
This includes staying on designated routes, respecting walkers, cyclists, and horse riders, and travelling at appropriate speeds for the environment. Gates should always be closed behind you, and care should be taken to minimise noise and disturbance in rural areas.

Road Riding
We are well situated for exploring some of the best roads in Mid and West Wales with roads like the A483, A40, A4069 Brynaman Mountain road, the Elan Valley, Cardigan Coast and Pembrokeshire coast all close by, the Mach Loop is also within easy reach with some of the best driving roads in Mid Wales, for further details on these recommendations please ask and we will be happy to help you plan a day out.

Facilities for Riders
Llanerchindda is fully equipped to support motorcyclists and touring riders throughout their stay.
We offer secure bike storage, a spray-wash area for cleaning bikes after a day on the trails, and a covered workshop space for basic maintenance and adjustments. There is also a dedicated drying room for riding gear, making it ideal for all-weather touring, we also stock a small range of bike parts including some, brake pads, clutch and brake leavers, wheel bearings, oils and inner tubes.
Packed lunches are available on request, and we also provide hearty breakfasts and evening meals in the Guest House dining room, ensuring you are well fuelled for long days on the road.
We also provide route information, local advice, and access to maps and GPS-supported routes to help you make the most of your stay.
